Tears of My Mother
Tears of My Mother

Told in his own unique and individual style, this is the story of Trevor Molloy who grew up in the Depression era of the 1930s in Greymouth, New Zealand. The early part of the story tells of the hardships his mother had to endure when her husband was sent to a mental hospital. Trevor's tale of how he helped her and the family of four is interspersed with his lively account of life at that time, trying to earn money while still at school. The latter part of the book focuses on Trevor's working life in a number of sawmills around New Zealand, and the hardships of keeping his young family housed and fed.
